INDIVIDUAL THERAPY

Individual Therapy is an opportunity for you to process and explore your thoughts, feelings and actions.

Many people wish to explore events of the past and work on steps towards a better life.

Many want to explore in  therapy: Depression, Anxiety, Trauma, Life Transitions, Anger, Relationship Issues, Self-Esteem.

PARENTING SUPPORT

There are times when adults seek support to think through what works best for the family. I can help by providing space to think through parenting strategies, so you can approach life courageously and wholeheartedly. In times of a crisis, therapy can be present-focused and solution-focused. We explore steps that meet the needs of all family members.

Depending on your needs and the situation, it may be beneficial to explore childhood experiences and how they impact your parenting today. We can discuss the way you hope to parent and what interferes with this goal. When there is woundedness or pain in our own stories, we work towards healing and reconciliation.

Issues I help parents with include: attachment, adoption, parenting on your own, cultural differences, family transitions, communication, power struggles, and developmental needs.

YOUTH & YOUNG ADULTS (13+)

Adolescents often need extra support while they wade through the challenges of growing up. I offer a trusted place to work through these challenges, gather lifelong coping skills, and learn an inner source of strength to persevere through the hardest of times.

Therapy services address the unique needs at this life transition and create a space for youth to develop a positive identity and a strong sense of belonging in life.

Youth may benefit from meetings one-on-one, however I seek to involve the parents in the process as much it will benefit the youth. With the support of parents, teens can make long-lasting and meaningful changes.

CHILDREN

Children have a harder time knowing when they need help. They may act out or keep it all in, showing sudden signs of sadness or withdrawing more. Issues such as depression, anxiety, or bullying are overwhelming for children and their parents. In therapy, we address these problems in ways that develop communication, accountability, teamwork and a positive sense of self.

Your child will have a safe place while we work toward solutions and increase their self-esteem and adaptability. We engage in age appropriate discussions and activities designed to build your child’s resilience. Play is a vital part of building therapeutic relationships and the discovery of new skills. For young children, parents are an important part of therapy, participating in conversations and creating strategies together.
